Although it’s exciting for many Marvel fans to hear that Murray has joined the MCU, they shouldn’t hold their breath for any further appearances, as Murray didn’t seem overly thrilled by his experience on the project.
“Let’s put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie,” he explained. “But I don’t think I need that experience a second time. And to come back to your previous question: I have mostly had a pretty good knack for avoiding the nasties of this industry. Fortunately, most good artists are also good people. At least that’s how I experience it with my friends.”
The news isn’t massively surprising to MCU ubergeeks who spend their time digging around for clues and leaks on Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbusters. Earlier in the month, Cosmic Circus picked up some info on Murray’s potential casting in Ant-Man 3, having noted that his photo double had already been selected.
It’s unclear if Murray will appear in person in the threequel, or whether we’ll just hear his voice. We’ll be waiting a long time to find out because Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania won’t be out until July 28, 2023 as part of the MCU’s Phase 4.
